Very exciting – we have just submitted our first App to iTunes for review. This is the unenhanced edition of Dreams From My Father by Barack Obama. We’ll let you know how this goes – fingers crossed.
**Update, 13th July**. We got rejected!
A response in 4 days is pretty encouraging, and what’s frustrating (and exciting) is that the reason for rejection is nothing to do with some of the more colourful language in Mr President’s book. It’s a simple error on our behlaf, schoolboy in its simplicity:
When the device is not connected to a network, Dreams From My Father does not load its contents and stays blank. This behavior might lead to user confusion. It would be appropriate to display either a notification or an alert stating that internet connectivity is required.
Please take a look at the Reachability iPhone program sample which demonstrates the use of the System Configuration Reachability API to detect the absence of WiFi and Wireless Wide Area Network (WWAN) services. Your application can then take appropriate action at the first point where network services are required.
We’ve fixed it and resubmitted.
