#quakebook
“A piece of shotgun new-age journalism-turned-literature”
#quakebook was inspired by a former British journalist and long-term resident of Japan, who one week after the quake sent out a message across Twitter asking for contributors to help create a book to raise funds for the relief effort. Enhanced Editions volunteered its expertise to help publish it. The book was converted to ePub by Liza Daly of ThreePress.

The call spread and from that grew a global community who together have compiled, designed, edited, and – today – published the book. #quakebook includes contributions from Yoko Ono, William Gibson, and Barry Eisler.
At once a visceral account of the quake itself, #quakebook is also testament to the power of the human spirit, collective action, and social media.
Currently only available on the Kindle, #quakebook is on sale at the Amazon UK (£7.13) and Amazon US ($9.99) stores. All proceeds go to the Japanese Red Cross Society. A print version will be released soon.
It’s been getting some great press coverage recently, and anything you can do to help spread the word would be much appreciated. You can follow #quakebook on Twitter, like it on Facebook or contact the team here.
